Woonsocket, RI - August 15, 2011 - Fellowship Health Resources, Inc. (FHR) will host "An Evening with Johnny Neel" on Friday, September 30 at Chan's Restaurant at 267 Main Street. The concert will introduce FHR's diverse arts and music recovery program, Studio 35, to the public. Studio 35 represents FHR's commitment to deliver creative programming to its community-based mental health services.

"We are very excited to have Johnny Neel performing for us as we host this wonderful event. Guests will enjoy an evening of great music, delicious food, and community spirit. We are grateful to Johnny Neel and Chan's for giving FHR a chance to spread awareness about Studio 35," says FHR President/CEO Joe Dziobek.

Before the doors at Chan's open at 6 p.m. for the concert, FHR Studio 35 members will have the opportunity to participate in an open "jam session" with Neel in preparation for the concert that night. Lisa Boulanger, an FHR Peer Specialist from New Bedford, is one of the eight Studio 35 members in the opening lineup prior to Neel's performance.

"I figured I would be missing a golden opportunity if I didn't work with Johnny Neel," Boulanger says. "I've always been creative and I love the opportunity to open my mind and gain new experiences. The arts allow people to communicate their thoughts and emotions with others in a way that words alone cannot. I think this event will help the people we serve recover and will allow Studio 35 to grow and spread awareness."

All proceeds from the concert will benefit Studio 35. “Corporate sponsorships and money raised from the event will provide funding for music education and instruction for FHR consumers, as well as instruments, art supplies, and other materials needed to foster a truly therapeutic arts and recovery program,” Dziobek says.

Tickets are $35 per person and include Chan’s fine oriental dining buffet and the concert. To find out more information or to order tickets, please contact Margaret Carroll at 401-642-4401 or mcarroll@fellowshiphr.org.
