Lynn Pike Hartman

The Phoenixville Community Health Foundation is asked each year for nominations for the March of Dimes Woman of Achievement Award. This year we nominated Lynn Pike Hartman for her long career of public service. We are pleased to announce that Lynn was chosen as the 2010 Woman of Achievement for that public service. Lynn has worked over 30 years in the nonprofit sector, from mental health services, to economic development, to youth mentoring, to non-profit development, and now as PCHF’s Senior Program Officer. Above and beyond her career, Lynn has spent a life in personal service to the community.

In Coatesville [her hometown] Lynn has served as Executive Vice President of the Central & Western Chester County Industrial Development Corporation and as past President of the Coatesville Action Corporation, past President of the Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce, chair of the Coatesville Hall of Fame Committee, and past President of the Coatesville Rotary, where she has been honored as Rotarian of the Year.

In Chester County she is a past board member of Family Service of Chester County and Chester County Compeer. She has also served on the Chester County Anti-Poverty Initiative, Chester County Trauma Center Task Force, and the DNB First Loyalty to Service Advisory Board.

A resident of Phoenixville since 1984, her activities here have been Relay For Life Executive Committee, Communities That Care Community Board, Breast Cancer Awareness Coalition and co-chair of the Dressing on a Dime Fashion Show Committee, Phoenixville Hospital Patient Safety Committee, Phoenixville Hospital Community Health & Education Advisory Board, Healthy Woman Advisory Board, national Board of Directors of Fellowship Health Resources and Chair of the local Development Committee.

As Senior Program Officer of the Foundation, Lynn helps design and implements twelve foundation programs and initiatives, as well as working with the nonprofit community and representing the Foundation within the greater Phoenixville area.

Annually, the March of Dimes honors three Chester County women in the areas of Business, Health, and Public Service. Lynn is in very good company this year with Joan Walsh, founder of Kashbox Coaching, receiving the business award, and Dr. Pamela Scott of the Chester County Hospital Women’s Pavilion receiving the health award. The 21st Annual Salute to Chester County Women of Achievement will be October at the Mendenhall Inn. For ticket information, call the March of Dimes:  610-945-6050.
