- You’ve heard the expressions one day at a time and one step at a time, but have you ever heard the expression one action at a time? According to Danielle Nixon, Recovery Advocate and co-facilitator, this is the mantra of Women’s Wellness/Seeking Safety (WWSS). Weekly at WWSS, women participate in a variety of activities, giving them the opportunity to identify their stressors, share effective coping skills, and choose safe new coping skills to try out. Weekly, each woman is encouraged to commit to one action that will move her life forward. Danielle continued, “we believe that keeping a commitment is a way of respecting, honoring, and caring for yourself."
