Mission:
· The
Mission of the David L. Taton Learning Institute (TLI) is to provide exemplary
workforce learning opportunities for the advancement of behavioral health
research, the promotion of scholarship, and the strengthening of services for
the care of individuals with mental illness, addictive disorders, and other life
challenges.
Purpose:
· The
Fellowship has initiated the David L. Taton Learning Institute in order to
strengthen and support the behavioral health and social service workforce, so
that it more aptly and ably fulfills its charge to help individuals recover and
enjoy satisfying lives.
Goals:
· In
human service settings, focused attention must also be directed toward the
application of evidenced-based and emerging treatments so that the clients we
serve benefit from treatment methods with proven effectiveness. The Taton
Learning Institute will seek to continually offer a wide array of learning
opportunities designed to strengthen education, skill development, and
supervision, in order to sufficiently equip the workforce to deploy such
treatments.
· Today's
workplace requires the use of new technologies, processes, practice, skills, and
knowledge. In order to address these needs, the Taton Learning Institute will
offer regular opportunities for learning that seek to explore and clarify the
complexities related to effective leadership in today’s world.
Collaboration:
· The
David L. Taton Learning Institute is pleased to be joining forces with a diverse
group of educators, from a variety of workforce development organizations and
institutes of higher learning, in the development and delivery of its
curricula. The Taton Learning Institute’s collaboration with these esteemed
venues of higher education enables it to offer its students a unique opportunity
to choose a course of study from a diverse syllabus, taught by seasoned
professionals in an intimate environment equipped with the latest technological
equipment.
· CEUs
for courses taken at TLI are available through the National Association of
Social Workers.
Dedication:
· This
Institute is named in honor and memory of David Taton, Board member,
benefactor, and trusted friend of Fellowship Health Resources whose spirit lives
on in this Institute’s pursuit of excellence.
